The Quinta do Lago North Golf Course is located within the luxury estate of Quinta do Lago. The course has four great par 5 holes requiring power and accuracy to play them successfully and at the same time providing attractive views. The par 3 holes are well influenced by the wind. Hole 14 is outstanding. The par 4s are all doglegs except for holes 10 and 13. Precision driving is vital to set up the chance of a low score. The lakes on holes 13 and 18 have claimed many unhappy victims. The course tends to favour the golfer who can draw the ball.

Tough course with a lot of elevation changes and difficult greens. Course was in terrific condition. A clear pleasure to play.

My experience playing the North Course was excellent. We walked - so be prepared to a lot of varying terrain (up and down) with barely a flat stretch anywhere on the course. Course condition was prime - greens are tough to read. Expensive, but worth the money.

Course looks like it is being overplayed plus no buffer teetimes to help with place of play . 5hrs 15mins for 4 ball, lucky to finish with enough light to see the ball. Don't take teetime after 12.30 if possible at this time of year.

The lack of a course ranger resulted in a 5 hour plus round of golf which took away from the enjoyment as waiting over every shot. 8 minute intervals is far too short. Don't think I'll be returning again
