Some wonderful holes especially on the front nine. Greens are in epic condition but super tricky. Didn’t have a straight putt all day.

Nice course, a lot of short par 4’s, but balanced by some decent par 5’s. Greens were good, tight fairways on some holes. Pace of play pretty standard. Mid tier course for the Algarve.

Brilliant but tricky for high handicappers

Lovely practice facilities, nice touches with iceboxes on the carts and friendly staff. Course had some tight fairways and is a struggle for 25 handicaps but anyone under that should be fine to shoot 80s or 90s.

Álamos Golf Course Review – May 2025

Our group of six from the UK played Álamos Golf Course in mid-May, and it offered a very different, but equally enjoyable, experience compared to its sister course, Morgado. Facilities: As with Morgado, the shared facilities are excellent. A full grass driving range, well-maintained short game areas, and a healthy, modern clubhouse that serves great food all contribute to a top-class setup. Whether warming up or winding down, it’s a great base for your round. Course Conditions and Layout: The course was in superb condition during our visit. Compared to Morgado, Álamos is definitely more forgiving off the tee and better suited to higher-handicap golfers. Most par 4s hover around the 300-yard mark, and the par 3s sit around 150 yards from the yellow tees, which makes it more accessible for a range of playing abilities. Challenge and Playability: Don’t let the shorter yardages fool you though—Álamos demands precision. The greens are small and surrounded by run-offs in all directions, meaning that anything less than a sharp short game will be quickly exposed. The greens themselves are tricky, with subtle breaks and undulating surfaces that make putting a true test. Overall Impression: Álamos is a beautifully presented course that complements the longer, more demanding Morgado layout. It’s perfect for golfers looking for a slightly more relaxed round—until you get to the greens! With excellent facilities, great course maintenance, and a layout that rewards accuracy and touch, it’s a must-play if you’re golfing in the Algarve.
