Old Course Description

The Old Course is located in the Vilamoura area and is the second oldest golf course in the Algarve. Set in an umbrella pinewood and laid out in an interesting way to take advantage of the natural contours. It is from the English school of Course design. The first holes are easy and inviting with reachable par 4s. The par 3 on the attractive fourth is a Hole in One potential. Selection of club from here will play an important part of your game, and straight shots will be needed. The ninth is an excellent example of this situation. The back nine has three interesting par 5s. The sixteenth hole provides a 522 metre challenge for a shot of good length and hitting straight.

From the welcome greeting to the cold towels at the end of the round we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The course was in excellent condition and all of the staff we met were friendly and professional. The practice area is one of the best you will encounter outside of a tournament.

Simply stunning! The whole experience of the Old Course was amazing. From the moment we arrived it just felt like another level. Impeccable customer service. Immaculate greens and fairways and top notch facilities. Elevated greens and some amazing tee box placements make for a challenging but fair experience. This place is a must visit for all golfers.

Has always been a great layout but the conditioning of the course fell short of past glory over the past decade. The recent updates have returned this course to its former premium best. Service levels the highest on the Algarve with very nice touches like personalized bag tags, and Iced towels.
