Great layout thats much more than undulating, on some of the holes there is a bit of a climb. The 16th is a classic thats a real stretch into the wind with the bunker in front waiting to catch anything under hit. The greens were as I expected very tricky to get the pace and if you miss the cup you could end up with a lengthy put back.

Silves golf courses has some of the most scenic golf holes in the Algarve it was bit of a shame that the greens were not as good. It probably down to the hammering they took during the Staysure Seniors Tour practice and Qualifying rounds the previous week. They had been shaved and they were trying to get them back with lots of water and fertiliser. When i started my round the greens were soaking wet and covered with dry fertiliser that was a bit like putting over large grains of sand and as the sun dried out the greens short puts became a bit of a lottery. But I kept saying to myself at least the sun is shining, I could be at home in the rain.
