Without doubt the best course in the Quinta / Villamoura area , this is a serious challenge with greens that are fast and furious with undulations that can send a slightly misread putt careering of the green to your amazement , supreme condition and shaped holes giving the faded and drawer challenges , it has the full Monty of all you need in a course , having played it 30 years ago and then again now , it has matured wonderfully and is a must play on any trip , would play it again in a flash and definitely do better on those greens !!

Another fine course in the Quinta do Lago quartet of courses , a gentle course with great par 3’s little rough and plenty of water . It’s once again for the lovers of parklands that roll along giving allLevels of players an enjoyable experience , excellent condition and despite the high price worth at least one visit !

What a disappointment this course was , poor condition , it has a great opportunity to be a good course but needs investment and TLC , elevations play a key role in the design and some holes are a good challenge but overall it underwhelms and although cheap by Algarve standards not worth a 45 minute drive if you are around Faro , there are better options available in the Eastern Algarve .

A serious test of golf for even then best , great condition , greens fast and rough dense , a real championship course for serious golfers and enthusiasts alike . Best course played in Algarve so far and the gem in Villamoura

An absolute gem of a layout , old style mature parkland , greens good , fairways Hairy and rough in spots . Overall tho I would highly recommend Pinhal , great shapes to holes and it helped that we played in under 3 hours ! This period playing golf with very few folks around is delightful !!

A beautiful classic old style parkland in pristine condition with fast greens this was a very enjoyable experience , and would highly recommend if you can get a reasonable green fee

Undertrated good solid course and best value

A typical resort style course with wide fairways and big greens , pretty Location and nice variety with dog legs . Highlight is the condition of fairways , absolutely topClass , Greens were mixed with a lot of bumps and lumps . The tee boxes were in bad condition , they looked like they had been resodded and relayed ! Anyway we did enjoy the course and it’s a lovely resort

One of the new kids in the block ! It’s a property play so they say build a good track and it will sell the inventory !! 27 holes great views of Lagos and overall a nice experience , course Condition and greens could be much better

Royal is probably the slightly better of the two 18’s in Val do Lobo , it gets serious levels of play so can be a bit tired , some lovely holes near ocean and is suitable for all levels of golfers , has a real club feel rather than a country club , it’s kind of old school but wellWorth playing

Great layout bit overall condition of course shows it tired and unloved recently . The paths are cobble and in awful condition and may cause accidents , Greens are very poor , cracked with bare patches , fairways mostly decent and some very good design Virus might be a factor ?

A spectacular location with 27 holes and a high end housing development under serious construction activity . While spectacular views make the course enjoyable , the actual holes can be quite bland and typical of a resort situation are on the less challenging variety . The VERY bad greens spoiled the experience for us and they really were very diseased and spongy , one might think overwatering has been the cause , a number of bunkers were also hard pan and wet , given that there has been no rain in months this is caused by misdirected irrigation . Given the nature and cost of golf at Palmares they really need to upThe game on maintainamce , I wouldn’t rush back in a hurry !!
