Interesting test of golf

Classic Portugese coast up in the hills with fairways lined with trees and scrub. Very tight course and a tough challenge. But had great fun plotting our way round. Need to be accurate off the tee and hit quite a few long irons for position. Great test. Greens a little slow, but true.
Palmares
Back to its best.

I’d read loads of negative reviews about the condition of Palmares in the summer of 2024 because of the drought they had in the algarve, but a friend played recently and said it was getting back to its best so I booked it.It was the best course we played out of Vale De Lobo and Espiche, mainly due to the superb greens, which were quick and true. You can see a few bits of the course that still need to received slightly after the summer, but the new head green keeper seems to be doing a superb job and the course is back to its best.

Great course with some lovely holes. Greens lets it down slightly though in Nov 24. They were slow and very soft. But that’s probably just the time of year and them looking to protect them.
